Oliver McCrum

Oliver McCrum founded his eponymous import company in 1994 in Berkeley California. After years of working in retail everywhere from San Francisco to New York and London, Oliver decided to steward some of the greatest Italian producers that we now have the privilege to offer.

Initially, he founded the company as a broader old world importer with a heavy focus Italy, but in 2007 he made the decision to focus specifically on the wines of Italy and the wealth of producers, regions and expressions it has to offer.

McCrum has expanded offerings to encompass the entirety of Italy with focus on expressions that are crafted from indigenous Italian varietals with a sense of place, transparency, and traditional techniques.

Oliver and his team are some of the most informed and friendly people we have had the opportunity to work with. Their focus on wines of clarity and tradition have provided us some of the best producers from the most recognizable to most obscure regions in Italy. 

For a region that is made up of 20 distinct zones, a vast cultural kaleidoscope, and an estimated 400-500 autochthonous varietals (some writers estimate as many as 2000!) Oliver and his team have managed to procure stellar offerings from almost every corner of the country, and some of the most internationally renowned growers Italy has to offer.
